CeLRRd, founded in its present form in
1998, holds its recognition as one of the
leading non-governmental organizations of
the country. It works in protection and
promotion of human rights, rule of law and
access to justice. It implements its activities
through research, resource development,
community mobilization, legal awareness
and legal aid to bring about the systematic
transformation in the society. Realizing
the fact that education is the basis for
the transformation of any society, it initiated
efforts to contribute in the clinical legal
education.
Hence, it established strong institutional
relationship with KSL to provide pragmatic
and community responsive legal education
in Nepal. CeLRRds contribution in
developing infrastructure, library and providing
human resource has been instrumental in
institutional development of KSL. Both work
as sister organization to strengthen access
to justice and promotion of human rights.
This year KSL worked with CeLRRd in several
initiatives such as promoting
pro-democracy and pro-peace movements, gender
equality programs, legal aid
activities etc.
