Our Mission


CRC has the following missions:

  • Conducting researches on the various issues related with child rights,
  • Developing legal and other resources for practical implementation of child rights out of the conducted researches
  • Conduction various practical activities like campaigns, trainings, orientations, skill developing programs, etc.
  • Developing center as a best academic institution in South Asian Region
  • Documentation of books, reports, journals, magazines, CDs, Court decisions, newspapers and other materials as possible
  • Launching 'Graduate' and Post Graduate' courses on child rights.
  • Instutionalizing center as well equipped, resourceful, perpetual and independent wing of KSL for working in the field of child rights.
Our Vision


CRC has been established with the vision of institutionalizing it as a very well set-up center for all child rights related issues. Center is an outcome for initializing the steps towards children's rights, CRC, in the long run, also retains the vision to conduct different academically credited courses of 'Graduation' and 'Post Graduation'. With an aim of developing the center as a 'resource center' in thematic issues of child rights in entire South Asian Region, it is organized with professional relations among various national and international agencies, GO's, NGO's and INGO's and also with other stakeholders of child rights. Holding regional conferences and promoting strength of all actors among South Asian Region with consolidated principles for the betterment of children, center also has the focused vision. Having got the academically and professionally resourceful institution is its ultimate vision

Objectives


The development objective of the Center is to build a competent rights regime in Nepal and the South Asia region by establishing a capable institution to generate human and intellectual resources pertaining to child rights, development and psychology. This institution will provide a service in the region and will work as a 'regional information clearing house as well as institution to academically and professionally build capacity of child rights professionals, workers, researchers, activists and law enforcement agents'.

Specific (Strategic) Objectives:

  • Establishment of an academic institution (platform) for continuous research and impact analysis of programs being implemented by various agencies in relation to the child rights, development and psychology.
  • Review of the child rights enforcement situation in Nepal and other countries.
  • Dissemination of pertinent information on the said issues periodically and annually.
  • Initiation of a platform for promoting and protecting child's right to access to justice.
  • Coordination among agencies engaged in protection and promotion of child rights, development and various types of welfare services.
  • Implementation of interactive seminars, symposiums and conferences, and academic diploma courses on child rights, development and psychology.
  • Setting up of a complete documentation facility for continuous support and assistance for faculties, scholars, students, rights workers and advocates, media persons, and policy makers.
  • Setting up of center for expert service to governmental as well as non-governmental organizations on issues of child, especially focusing on service to develop policies and making and amendment of laws.
  • Holding regional conferences and training activities, including publication of reports and recourse materials on child issues.
